Bryan Satterwhite - Owner
Has been with Lux for 20+ years.
The Aerus Electrolux franchise in Richmond, VA has a long history that starts with Ray Satterwhite. Ray joined Electrolux in 1976 (Bill Friedlander was his first manager -who still works with us and is amazing), he had a long and extremely successful career in Central Virginia as a door to door salesman. Ray sold over 15,000 machines door to door and won many awards (countless - I have boxes and boxes of plaques and sales awards) and won many trips with the company. In 2004, Aerus Electrolux went to franchises and Ray bought the Richmond, VA Southside franchise. In 2013, we moved to our current location in the West End of Richmond.
Ray passed in September of 2021 after a hard fought battle with AML Leukemia and his son Bryan is now the owner (who worked with his dad since he was 19 and has rebuilt well over 10,000 machines) . Ray loved his customers and still had customers that he had sold a lux to back in the 70s Bryan and Bill still run the shop and continue the legacy that Ray started - always treat the customer more than just a customer.

NASA-funded Wisconsin Center for Space Automation and Robotics (WCSAR) begins solving for problem of built-up ethylene gas around plants grown in the closed environment of spacecraft, which caused premature plant decay and spoilage. PCO technology is discovered.
1990s
WCSAR team created a device that was successfully flown and operated on Space Shuttle Columbia
1995
Electrolux USA is purchased by a group led by Joe Urso
1998
Electrolux USA is re-branded as Aerus, a healthy living company
2000
Aerus introduces air purification products
2001
Aerus invests in early generation of ActivePure®, a NASA Space Foundation Certified Space Technology
2009
Aerus greatly advances efficacy of ActivePure® and is awarded US and global patent protections
2016
Aerus' ActivePure® Technology is inducted into the Space Technology Hall of Fame, one of 75 technologies to receive such an honor in 30 years
